L. A.  Scots Play Claymore Drums

L.A. Scots' Mid-Section with Claymore Drums
Steve Foley, Mike Jett, Kevin MacHeffner, Amanda Heitritter, Briana Dowling, and Caitlin Fitch

Richard Baughman, L/D of the L.A. Scots has this to say:

"These Claymore drums are great.  I love how easy it is to get a sound out of them.  They came out of the box pretty much ready to go with dampening material already inside the drums.  I brought them up to pitch in about a minute.  They have a beautiful sound and I really like using the drum key to tune them. The tensioning system is incredibly helpful for quick tuning when you're getting the pitches perfect before a competition and time is tight.

Being that the Claymore Company focuses only on pipe band midsections, which is not the case of the other top pipe drumming manufactures, you can bet you will get a consistently great quality of materials on those drums.

Three things are essential in getting a great midsection sound: having quality made drums, recruiting a tuning person who can hear slight changes in pitch well, and getting your midsection players to pay attention to how and where they are striking the drum. I look forward to working with Mark in the future and the L.A. Scots Pipe Band is thrilled to be playing his drums."

Steve Foley, bass drummer for L.A. Scots says, "We love the drums!  Having played all brands, I can honestly say that the Claymore Bass has the nicest tone and decay."
